With the Semrush integration, you can analyze any keyword in detail using keyword research and SERP analysis tools. The keyword results include volume, difficulty, top URLs, page authority score, referring domains, and backlinks, among other things. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
So, without further ado, let’s see how you can start with the Semrush integration.
How to use Semrush Integration?
Follow the steps below to connect your Semrush account and use it with LongShot to generate search-optimized content ranks.
Step 1: Authentication
On the LongShot dashboard, you can see the Semrush integration button on the left panel. Clicking on this button opens a new window asking you to either login or create an account.

So, if you already have an account, you can log in or create a new one on Semrush (free or paid).

After logging in, you are prompted with authentication to connect your Semrush account to LongShot. You are required to approve this notification to access the integration. We’re using a Semrush Guru plan for this use case. You can purchase a paid plan or create a free account.

Step 2: Keyword Explorer
On successful authentication, you are redirected to the Keyword Explorer dashboard. This is where the magic happens. As you can see, you can access the Keyword Research and the SERP Analysis tools over here. You must input your primary keyword and select the country before hitting the search button. There is also a keyword list to save the chosen keywords for a primary keyword, which you can use in the LongShot editor.

Now, let's explore these tools individually.
Step 3: Exploring Keyword Research
In the Keyword Research section, you can input your primary keyword and select the country for your research. For this example, we chose SaaS marketing as our primary keyword (for the US).

You can access the volume, keyword difficulty, intent, CPC, competitive density, and results. Apart from the Related keywords, you can also access the above data for the Broad Match keywords and Questions.
You can select the relevant keywords you want to include in your blog and add them to the list. All the keywords from your Related, Broad Match, and Questions fields are added to the list.

When you return to the dashboard, you can see your latest addition in your keyword list, as shown below.

Step 4: Exploring SERP Analysis
The process is similar to Keyword Research; input the primary keyword and select the country. We’ll use the same keyword (SaaS marketing) and country (US) for this case.

You get the top 20 SERP results for your primary keyword. You can access these URLs, learn their page authority score, referring domains, backlinks, etc. You can click on one of your competitor’s URLs to visit the page, or you can learn more about their backlink data by clicking on their number of backlinks.

Let's see the backlink data for the first SERP.
After you click on the Backlink number, 61, in this case, you're redirected to the page below.

You can access that webpage's backlinks (active, inactive, or lost). You can also filter backlinks based on if they are do-follow or no-follow. This data will allow you to learn more about your competitor's off-page SEO strategies.
Step 5: Generate Search-Optimized Content
After you conclude your keyword research, you can begin generating content using AI. You can find the keyword list you generated from the earlier steps on the right-hand panel of the LongShot editor, as shown below.

Click on your keyword list to reveal all the keywords inside that list, as shown below. You can easily generate search-optimized content using these keywords.

LongShot offers a ton of relevant features to help you generate high-quality content. So, now you’re in more reach than ever to generate your perfect content piece that ranks on the SERP.
